Key Assignments
The DSG India has emerged as a resource agency with strong experience in grassroots actions, community-based models, and technical resource support for non-government, corporate social responsibility and government projects. It has undertaken several studies, projects and assignments including strategic research, action research, community needs assessments, baseline development, evaluations, impact mapping, capacity building, sustainability planning, social mobilization, and road map for scaling the impact models and practices in areas of education, child protection, health, water, sanitation, hygiene, livelihoods.
· Impact evaluation of Health project implemented by LEPRA India to address Tuberculosis (TB), HIV/AIDs, and Leprosy issues in Madhya Pradesh. The key interventions of this project were awareness building, behavioural change counselling, community-based systems, and mainstreaming with the government health delivery systems.
· Community-based Institutional Sustainability Assessment under Vidarbha Farmers Livelihood Project, implemented by World Vision India in rural areas of the Yavatmal district in Nagpur, Maharastra.
· Mid-term evaluation of the integrated livelihood project supported by the European Commission and Kubel Stiftung (KKS), Germany. Shramik Bharti implemented this project targeting poverty-stricken households in rural areas of Kanpur. The project was focused on farming systems, food production systems, food security, nature-based solutions and community-based systems in rural areas.
· Evaluation of integrated human trafficking project implemented by Catholic Relief Services in Chhattisgarh and Bihar as trafficking source states, and Mumbai and Delhi as destination areas.
· Assessment and formulation of Capacity Building Framework for Tribal Rights Network for their effective and sustainable role in advocating and building access of the tribal communities to their rights and entitlements in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. (Find Your Feet).
· Evaluation of the Livelihood Improvement Project funded by the International Fund for Agriculture Development in Uttrakhand and Meghalaya.
· Assessment, mobilization, networking, and capacity building of formal and informal networks in partnership with UNICEF for encouraging education among girls, preventing child and early marriages, and promoting appropriate hygiene behaviour in rural areas of Lalitpur district in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. It brought the local networks, social platforms and frontline workers’ associations to utilize their communication channels and systems to reach out to wider rural communities and build appropriate behaviours impacting children, adolescent girls, women, and larger communities.
· Conducted assessment and design of business plans to strengthen primary agriculture cooperative societies and cooperative banks in districts of Firozabad and Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh.
· Social and economic assessment of Persons with Disabilities to provide inputs in programming for their overall development in the service area of Rihand Plant of NTPC in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.
· Integrated Village Sanitary Assessment focused on solid and liquid waste conditions prevailing in rural areas of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. (World Vision)
· Capacity building and training on Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The DSG India also provided training with field demonstration approaches on community-led sanitation and linkages with the Swachhata Bharat Mission (SBM).
· Capacity building and training on Community-Led Water Security Systems (CLWS) and maintenance of India hand pumps in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. ( World Vision)
· Socio-economic assessment and impact evaluation of the TATA Motors supported CSR projects in rural areas of Lucknow and Barabanki districts of Uttar Pradesh. The project was based on the four pillars of education, health, environment, and employability among disadvantaged households such as landless, daily wage earners, and migrants. (TATA Motors).
· Capacity building of the civil society organizations on formation, strengthening, and building linkages of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Bundelkhand and other regions of Uttar Pradesh. The NABARD and Action-Aid engaged us in capacity building
